For Clients who find themselves with a genuine and immediate financial crisis, the SSN Hardship Fund can provide short term financial support while other longer term solutions and sources are engaged. 

As we are a volunteer organisation funded solely by donations from the local community, it is our responsibility to ensure any funds are distributed responsibly to those with a verifiable need. People in financial crisis will therefore first be assessed by an independent financial advisor working benevolently with the SSN, and the level of support will then be determined by the SSN Management Committee and in accordance with the SSN Hardship Fund Policy. The SSN does not provide funds directly to those in need, instead paying critical bills on behalf of the Client or providing food and fuel vouchers.

Beneficiaries of the SSN Hardship fund are given guidance and encouragement to engage with other assistance agencies for long terms solutions.
